At RVI, each individual makes his or her own investment decisions. Working with a group of accomplished people helps you improve the quality of your investments.  RVI sees deals early and has a community to help us turn this deal flow into good investments.

Curated Deal Flow

RVI only invites startups in to present that have already passed the hurdle of securing another angel group or venture fund as their lead investor.

Access to Experts

Few people have all the skills needed to vet a deal. Our members get to tap the expertise and networks of their fellow members and the already-completed due diligence materials from the lead investor that nominated the company to us.

Avoid Blind Spots

Playing on a team gives you more eyes to see more potential problems.  Friends don’t let friends invest alone :).

Our Values

Do the Right Thing

RVI is committed to not only doing right by our members, but also by the startups we vet and invest in.

Time and effort need to be properly balanced with outcome. This is why RVI leverages our relationships with other angel groups to make investing easier and safer at the same time.

To facilitate a collaborative environment, RVI holds respect for our members and for the entrepreneurs as paramount.

Our Impact

  • Helping Startups Succeed Anywhere: Our members derive great satisfaction from steering portfolio companies towards success through advice and introductions.

  • Starting More Companies in Our Region: RVI members actively participate in our local entrepreneurship ecosystem by inspiring college students to explore entrepreneurship with the Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation and mentoring up-and-running startups so they are ready for capital with Valley Venture Mentors.

  • Funding More Companies in Our Region: When the companies we invest in are local, the majority of the economic benefit of our portfolio company’s success comes to the community where we live. RVI and its partners are the largest source of equity financing for local startups.
